'Més Romànic' in Alta Ribagorça

Turisme Alta Ribagorça. El Pont de Suert, La Vall de Boí, Vilaller

The region of Alta Ribagorça is home to an important architectural heritage that has given visibility to the region throughout the world, thanks mainly to the set of Romanesque churches in the Vall de Boí declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

Parallel to this scenario, pleasantly recognized, there is another one that remains partly silenced and in some cases forgotten. Hermitages and churches that in the past had developed a religious and social action, now remain closed or, in the best of cases, waiting to be opened one day a year for some local festival.

The "MésRomanic" project aims to contribute a grain of sand to the lack of knowledge and make visible the architectural, historical and landscape heritage of Alta Ribagorça. Initially. More Romanesque includes twelve constructions, with the aim of expanding it in the coming years to show that heritage that demands better visibility and not being forgotten.

All of them remind us and tell us past stories, closely linked to the territory and that are part of its identity. We suggest you discover them by walking along old traditional paths and at the same time observing the richness of the mountain landscapes in which they are found, which in many cases are the result of centuries of human activity.
