How was the Guillermo de Belibasta Prize born? The idea arose from the fact that in the south of the Alt Urgell region there is an evident lack of literary dynamism and that the few incentives to write are limited to school. That's why they thought that people had to be encouraged and encouraged to take up the pen, and the best way to achieve this was by organizing a literary contest with a prize.

The awards ceremony for the contest takes place on the Thursday of the Tragó Festival, which usually occurs on the first Thursday in August. These are days when there is a lot of atmosphere and the town is already equipped to celebrate all the activities, which allows for a more festive atmosphere to be given to the event.
