Coll de Nargó

Nargó Coll is a municipality in the county of Alt Urgell, in the province of Lleida, located in the west of the region culd. By its end pass the rivers Segre, Perles and Sallent and is very near the swamp Oliana. The population make up different entities: Coll de Nargó, Gavarra, I Masies of Nargó, Montanissell, Sallent and Valldarques.

Historically, the town of Coll de Nargó, belonged to the county of Urgell, although at the end of the thirteenth century the bishopric of Urgell resigned to it and it became part of the properties of Castellbó vizcondados.

In this town we visit different religious buildings, among which we highlight three. The first, in the town of Coll de Nargó, the church of Sant Climent de Coll de Nargó dated X-XI century. It is characterized as a Romanesque church, with Lombard influence of a single nave and covered with a barrel vault and two waters. Emphasize its bell tower, Islamic influence in one hand with horseshoe arches and pyramidal shape, and the other the influence of Romanesque arches and windows. As festivities Nargó Coll municipality must emphasize the raiers party held during the month of August and takes place on the river Segre. We must also take into account the population festival coincides with the festival of Sant Jaume.
