Mollet de Peralada
Mollet de Peralada is part of the Alt Empordà region, province of Girona. The municipal term has an extension of 3 km2. and the town is 59m. of altitude and the highest point of the term is the Puig de Mas Ferriols of 101 meters.
The limits of the municipal term are to the north with Espolla and Rabós, to the east with Garriguella, to the south with Peralada and to the west with Masarac. It has added the nuclei of Barrio las Costas and Casaloca.
History
Mollet de Peralada has been documented since the year 944 under the name: MOLETO. It was owned by the monastery of Sant Quirze de Colera and the monastery of Santa Maria de Vilabertran. In 1954 the Wine Cooperative was founded. Starting in 1933 it was called Mollet d'Empordà, the official name of the gazetteers of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
