Organyà

Organyà is a Pyrenean village of Alt Urgell, in the province of Lleida. To the north delineated with the gorge of Tresponts, on the south by the Spy bridge, east river Segre and runs west is the mountain of Santa Fe, which dominates the town. Organyà has a remarkable source used to supply the population, is the Font Snare.

From Organyà preserves the text is considered the oldest literary prose written in Catalan: Homilies d'Organyà them. This text was found in the rectory of the parish church of Santa Maria which hosted the priory. Today you can see a reproduction of the page in the tourist office of the population, although the originals are preserved in the Library of Catalunya.

The church of Santa Maria dates from the late tenth and early eleventh century, is Romanesque, like most areas, and has been renovated several times to maintain their structure and prevent the deterioration. At about 1200 meters above sea level, on top of the mountain of Santa Fe find the hermitage of Santa Fe de Mont-roi.

Within the municipality of Organyà find other elements to understand the environment. We emphasize the possibility of jumping paragliding from the mountain of Cogulló. In addition, there is also the Santa Fe Trail and the Route of the dolmens where you can get to visit up to seven prehistoric monuments of this period. These dolmens found that of the Cobertrades Serrat, which is not very well preserved, the Colomera, which is the most well preserved in the area, the Serrat de Malpàs; Favà the mill, which has been reconstructed, the Clot de les Canyes, that of Pedracabana and of Oliva.

Organayà festival celebrates the Virgin of August and every Sunday they market.
