Pinell de Solsonès

The municipality of Pinell de Solsonès is located west of the region of Solsonès. The municipality of Pinell del Solsonès has an extension of 91.14 Km² and an average altitude of 684 meters.

Most of the municipality of Pinell del Solsonès are forests, and to a lesser extent, cultivated land dedicated to the cultivation of cereals, mostly wheat and barley.

The municipality of Pinell del Solsonès is made up of five parishes: Pinell, Madrona, Sant Climenç, Sallent de Solsonès and Miravé.

Sant Climenç is the most important population center of the Pinell municipality. You can visit the Romanesque church of the twelfth century and a stately mansion that keeps heraldic emblems and is the starting point of the tour of the closed village.

The town of Pinell, located at 648 m, is located northwest of the term, near the torrent of Pinell, or Madrona river. The parochial church of Sant Miquel de Pinell, that centers a small nucleus of houses, has lost the primitive structure due to several reforms.

The sector centered by the old parish of Sant Pere de Madrona extends to the northwest of the term, the central nucleus has two masias inhabited eventually.

The old parish of Sallent de Solsonès is located in the southern end of the term, there are few inhabited farmhouses.

In the easternmost sector there is the village of Miravé , which has as its nucleus the parish of Sant Pere de Miravé, a building of Romanesque origin but very renovated in the 17th century.
