Sant Miquel de Campmajor

Sant Miquel de Campmajor is a municipality with an area of 33.2 km ² located to the west of the Pla de l'Estany region, 9 kilometers from Banyoles.

It limits to the northeast with Serinyà, to the northwest with Sant Ferriol, to the west with Mieres, to the south withSant Martí de Llémena and with Canet d'Adri and to the east with Porqueres.

The municipality is made up of five neighborhoods or nuclei: Falgons, San Miguel de Campmajor, San Martín de Campmajor, Ventatjol and Briolf, the latter being totally uninhabited.

In specific areas of the valley there are also chalks that are, together with the waters of the aquifer and the limestones that are deeper, responsible for the formation of the characteristic lakes.

Another peculiarity is the great variability and increasingly abundant forest and riverbank vegetation that is found according to the sector and the height that, together with the multiple fields of crops, create suggestive and very diverse landscapes.

In the midst of this great landscape wealth, in the Campmajor valley we find places as splendid as the Molí lock, which is a waterfall located in the middle of the Sant Miquel stream.

The atmosphere of the valley is one of great placidity and tranquility, with the singularity that it does not have an urban nucleus.

You can also enjoy the bucolic landscapes of the river Ser as it passes through the Roca neighborhood and the Molí jumper or the devil's footprints, which are also found. Among others, it is worth following the multiple lakes that have been forming and that are scattered around the center of the valley.

Agriculture and livestock are the predominant economic activities, as well as pasture for cattle, among others.
