Candies in Sant Feliu Sasserra

After the Solemn Mass sung by the Choir of Sant Feliu Sasserra, there will be the singing of Caramelles through various streets of the town.

Caramelles are a musical and cultural tradition that is celebrated during Holy Week in Catalonia. The caramelles go out on the street performing popular songs with instruments such as the tambourine, the gralla, the flute and the drum. They usually carry a basket where they collect the Easter eggs that people give them in exchange for their interpretations.

This tradition has its roots in medieval religious music and is considered a form of prayer and thanks for spring and life.
