Salomó's 'Ball del Sant Crist' is back!
Salomó's 'Ball del Sant Crist' is a theatrical show with medieval roots declared a Festive Heritage Element of National Interest by the Generalitat de Catalunya. It belongs to the genre of spoken dances. It stages some legendary events from the 16th century that popular tradition has maintained to date.
He explains that, due to the hunger suffered by the town and the entire region, a merchant from Solomon, Josep Nin, embarked for Algiers in search of wheat. He returned with the food, but also with the image of a Crucifix that, miraculously, he bought for thirty coins and after many obstacles.
