Sant Martí Festival in Maçanet de Cabrenys

Shortly after the Castañada celebration, Maçanet de Cabrenys hosts its main festival in honor of the town's patron saint, Sant Martí!

The main local festival, the feast of the patron saint, Saint Martin, is celebrated on November 11th. The festivities usually last three days, to which a fourth day, "Sant Macari," is often added—a humorous name given to the Monday or day following the main festival.

The celebrations begin with the Maçabars parade, accompanied by the Banda del Rec, kicking off an intense and lively weekend. The nights are synonymous with partying, with music sessions in the municipal hall, where guest DJs keep everyone dancing until the early hours.

Over the weekend, community participation is evident in sporting and popular activities such as the bike ride, which brings together people of all ages in a festive and healthy atmosphere. Culture also plays a prominent role with book presentations and literary events that highlight local history and heritage.

The children's festivities are a must, with bouncy castles and music in the schoolyard, giving the little ones a chance to enjoy their own space within the celebration. Live music fills the square with concerts by local artists and bands, and the traditional sardana dances once again bring together residents and visitors in a vibrant display of Catalan culture.

Sunday's events combine tradition and community with a gathering of classic and sports cars, a solemn mass with musical accompaniment, and a performance by the Maçanet Choir, which closes the festival with an emotional and communal touch.
