International Dance Day in Horta de Sant Joan

Horta de Sant Joan celebrates International Dance Day with us with a day full of rhythm and movement in the Church Square.

Dance will take to the streets to become the main attraction and reach all citizens in an open, welcoming and vibrant space.

A total of 120 dancers will participate in this collective celebration, sharing their talent and championing dance as a vibrant, accessible, and deeply rooted form of cultural expression. The main objective is to raise the profile of this discipline beyond its usual venues and invite the public to enjoy it in a natural and participatory way.

The event is organized by Orta Dansa and the Horta de Sant Joan City Council, with the collaboration of Dones Bàrbara, and will also feature the participation of invited professionals such as Sanguinària, from the CIA LaDama company, and Laura Ibáñez, who will contribute their experience, sensitivity and artistic career to this very special day.

In addition, several dance schools and organizations in the region have joined the initiative, making for a diverse and enriching event. These include Batea Dansa, the Alcañiz Municipal School of Music and Dance, Balls Moderns de Tivissa, Escola Maria Lozano de Amposta, Le'Scénica de Ascó, and Orta Dansa itself.

With this proposal, Horta de Sant Joan joins the international celebration of this artistic discipline and reaffirms its commitment to culture, the promotion of the performing arts and the support of local talent.

A day designed to inspire, share and celebrate dance as a universal language that unites people, emotions and territory.
