Main Festivals of Horta de Sant Joan
The Horta de Sant Joan Festival in honor of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is here again this year!
The festivities will begin with football, exhibitions, a jota dance, and a communal dinner, before giving way to the main events. Monday will feature the opening firework display, pub crawls, bowling, and the proclamation of the festival queen and her court, followed by the opening speech and the first grand dance of the Fiesta Mayor.
Popular culture will play a prominent role with giants, parades, jotas (traditional Aragonese dances), masses, processions, and brass bands, which will travel through different streets of the town. There will also be more recreational activities, such as the Rural Olympics, a card tournament, children's shows with foam, and several nights of music.
Bullfighting events will take center stage with activities in the streets and the bullring. The day will also include a correfoc (fire run), concerts, and DJ sets. The Onze de Setembre (September 11th) will also be celebrated with an official ceremony, sardana dances, and other festive activities throughout the day.
The festivities conclude with activities for the little ones, new bullfighting events, and a final night of music at the sports center.
Seven days to experience Horta intensely, go out into the streets and enjoy a program that combines timeless traditions with music, festivities and shared activities.
Don't miss it!
