Nativity Scene Diorama Exhibition and Nativity Scene Route, Olesa de Montserrat

On December 13, the Nativity Scene of La Olivera and the traditional exhibition of Nativity dioramas will be inaugurated.

The Nativity Scene at the Olive Tree features life-size figures that grow in size each year. This year, it will once again be located next to the Town Hall, making it a particularly striking sight. Its inauguration will be accompanied by a concert performed by the children of the Municipal School of Music.

The Nativity Scene Diorama Exhibition is an activity organized by the Olesa Nativity Scene Association, reviving the tradition of showcasing the work done throughout the year on the various scenes of the birth of Jesus. Some of these scenes are quite unique and adapted to local Christmas traditions, such as the Caga Tió (a Catalan Christmas log) or the Revalca Cavalcade. Furthermore, the dioramas always strive to include representations of buildings and spaces in the town and surrounding area that have been or are of great significance.

This year, the exhibition will be accompanied by a lecture on the symbolism of the Nativity scene on December 18th. Many of the Nativity scenes depict Gospel scenes or typical Christmas traditions in spaces and buildings throughout Olesa.

The Nativity Scene Route is one of the highlights of Olesa's Christmas program and is an opportunity to visit the nativity scenes located in public facilities and private homes in the municipality.

In total there are about forty nativity scenes that make up the Route, which is now becoming a consolidated activity that stimulates artistic creativity and tradition, as well as being a way to improve coexistence among citizens.

The exhibition can be visited from December 13, 2025 to January 11, 2026 at the Cal Puigjaner Cultural Center.
