Experience the Sant Bartomeu festivities!

Sant Bartomeu, celebrated on August 24th, is a festival with a long tradition in Catalonia, especially rooted in several municipalities throughout the region. This festival combines religious, cultural, and popular elements and is celebrated with events that reflect the identity and heritage of each town.

One of the most emblematic examples is the Sitges Festival, in honor of Saint Barthelemy, known for its spectacular nature and popular roots. The festival includes parades, castles, folk dances, concerts, and, above all, the impressive fireworks that illuminate the waterfront. Saint Bartholomew is the patron saint of the municipality, and his image is carried in procession through the streets amid great devotion and celebration.

In many Catalan towns, the Sant Bartomeu festivities coincide with the end of summer, making them one of the last major festivals before the return to everyday life. This gives them a special energy and a high turnout among residents and visitors. In addition to the recreational elements, there's no shortage of religious traditions, such as solemn masses, floral offerings, and processions.

Through the Sant Bartomeu festivities, an intangible heritage rich in collective values, historical memory and artistic expression is kept alive.
