Cabrera de Mar

Cabrera de Mar is a municipality in the comarca of Maresme located in a small valley open to the coast between the towns of Vilassar de Mar and Mataro. It combines sea with extensive beaches, and mountains, with a great historical and landscape.

Burriac Castle is the most representative monument Cabrera Privileged watchtower Mediterranean Sea, the Castle is situated 401m above sea level and 3500 meters from the sea, on the east side of the Park of the coastal range within the Network of Natural Parks of the Generalitat of Catalonia. There are many routes and trails open access to visit the Castle and its surroundings. The most simple and suitable for all levels starting at the center of Cabrera.

For many centuries, the castle has witnessed Burriac the different stages that have transformed the country and its people, since the time of the Iberians and Romans to the present day. A proof of this rich history of Cabrera de Mar are the important archaeological sites have been discovered and their unique historic houses and buildings that make up the urban fabric.

The importance and strategic position of Cabrera de Mar was such that, within the framework of Laietània Festival in late May, celebrates the iberoromana Fair. Its streets and squares were filled with leisure activities and cultural visits to archaeological sites, and a large craft market, among others, will delight young and old.

To publicize this heritage, the City of Cabrera de Mar has prompted several actions to promote tourism as a new Tourist Information Point (open weekends and holidays from 9am to 14pm) to serve visitors, guided tours free... and all the information needed to complement the stay in the town: restaurants with varied quality cuisine, shopping, maps, routes, calendar of events...
