El Pont d'Armentera
Located in the interior of the Alt Camp, near the Conca de Barberà, the Pont d'Armentera captivates the visitor with the details of the old town and its traditions.
Of the former, the remains of the Roman aqueduct (restored in the 18th century), the parish church of Santa Magdalena and the remains of the castle of Salmellà, declared a Site of Cultural Interest, stand out.
As for traditions, the main festival (July 22) dates back to the 14th century and includes the ancient and still popular procession of the blessed bread on the programme.
As an anecdote, it is worth mentioning that it was an industrialist born in the town, Josep Tous, who in the fifties was in charge of synchronizing all the public clocks in the Spanish State.
