Espot

Espot Township is located in the river valley Written, to the right of the Noguera Pallaresa. It is a glacial valley which contains a large number of lakes that flow into l'estany of Sant Maurici. The highest part of the valley, situated around the pool of Sant Maurici and Encantats els massif is part of the National Park and Lake Sant Aigüestortes Maurici.

Access to Espot population until recently was difficult due to its geographical location, and did not have any main road reaching the people. Now access has improved thanks to the influx of tourists coming through the creation of the National Park and the ski resort Super Espot, which has been a real boost for the area.

Sprint has become one of the two entry points Aigüestortes National Park and Sant Maurici. In his part of the park you can visit more than 20 glacial lakes, such as Ratera or Amitges, and towering mountains as the Pui Encantats linya or spectacular.

The Espot village is divided into two nuclei: Espot Solau, left and Espot Obago, right. Espot retains a medieval tower in the middle surveillance of people and two Romanesque bridges, one over the river Written and another on the Torrassa, a river that ends within the same municipality. Also worth visiting is the church of Santa Llogaia unique plant and square tower with pyramidal coverage, this church is mentioned in documents in 839, in the same documents also cited Espot village for the first time.
