Bàscara Nativity Scene

The Bàscara Nativity Scene is one of the best known in the Girona region and one of the oldest in the country.

Since Christmas 1973, year after year, it has represented the most characteristic scenes in the old town and on the banks of the Fluvià, and in each edition the nativity scene mobilizes a large part of the population.

The representations of the nativity scene consist of two clearly differentiated parts: the introduction and the plastic scenes. The introduction takes place in the Plaza de la Iglesia and it is a spectacular preamble, changing over the years, in which movement predominates and light, sound and special effects play an important role. Scenes always related to the Crib are represented and during which the public does not circulate, they wait standing.

Once this part is finished , a tour begins in which the visitor walks among the different plastic scenes that represent the daily life of Palestine 2000 years ago and the birth of Jesus.
