Sant Cugat del Vallés Carnival 2026
Sant Cugat del Vallès is preparing to live the Carnival intensely!
From February 12th to 18th, Sant Cugat will be filled with music, tradition, and color for Carnival, a week-long celebration featuring more than twenty activities throughout the town's streets and squares. This collective celebration invites everyone to take to the streets, participate, and embrace the Carnival spirit.
Fat Thursday will kick things off with some of the most emblematic events, such as the Ball dels Estirats and the Baixada del Gall del cimborrio, a symbolic moment in which the Rooster will take power from the mayor and proclaim the Carnival Proclamation, officially starting the revelry.
During the following days, the festivities will continue with deeply rooted traditions such as the Cercatasques, the Ball de Gitanes, which this year is once again breaking participation records, and the always eagerly awaited Rúa de Comparsas, where the Isabel de Sant Cugat will present the most original and creative costumes.
The Carnival will also have events for the evening and for families. The Evening Ball will bring back the indoor atmosphere of the Unió, while the little ones can enjoy the Ball de Gitanetes and the new Cercapastes, a new addition this year.
The celebration will close on Ash Wednesday with the final parade, the return of power and the traditional popular sardine feast, a festive and participatory farewell that puts an end to an intense week.
With the support of the City Council, the Carnival Commission and the involvement of the citizens, Sant Cugat reaffirms its community spirit in one of the most beloved festivals of the year.
Dress up, participate and experience the Sant Cugat Carnival the right way!
