Costa Brava Jazz Festival in Palafrugell
The Costa Brava Jazz Festival in Palafrugell is a musical event held annually in Palafrugell, coinciding with the October 12th holiday weekend. Performances take place in the Municipal Theatre and also in the town center, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere for jazz lovers.
The festival originated in 1990 when the Palafrugell Municipal Tourism Board began a series of jazz concerts in the Cabo Rojo Gardens of Calella de Palafrugell. Those concerts, held in July and August, were the forerunners of this festival, which has steadily gained popularity over the years.
Over time, the festival evolved. In 2000, it came under the organization of the Caixa de Girona Foundation, maintaining the same format. A year later, in 2001, it became part of the Caixa de Girona Summer Festivals, and the following year it adopted the name Cap Roig Gardens Festival, which is the name by which it is currently known.
Palafrugell, besides being the setting for this festival, is a town with a rich cultural and natural heritage. Located on the Costa Brava, it offers a wide variety of tourist activities, such as hiking trails, idyllic beaches, and exquisite cuisine based on local products. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of its landscapes, as well as its history and traditions.
Don't miss the Costa Brava Jazz Festival in Palafrugell! It's a unique opportunity to enjoy jazz music in a spectacular setting, while discovering everything this charming town has to offer.
