Living Nativity Scene of Polinyà

The Living Nativity Scene of Polinyà was celebrated uninterruptedly between 1972 and 1985. As it was an initiative organized entirely by volunteers, it then suffered a 20-year hiatus.
Thanks to the drive of many residents of the town, the collaboration of two other entities in Polinyà, and the support of the City Council and the Parish of Sant Salvador, since 2006 the Living Nativity Scene has once again become part of the traditions of the town, currently managed by the El Grupo de Polinyà Association.

The performances take place on the Sunday before Christmas. They are held in the Plaza and Gardens of the Parish Church of San Salvador in Polinyà. This location, situated on a high point in the town with the Romanesque church as a backdrop, creates a perfect atmosphere that transports you back in time and makes you experience Christmas like a fairytale.

The Polinyà Group Association, organizer of the Nativity Scene, together with the collaborating entities, including Amics de Sant Antoni Abad, want to offer all residents and visitors a renewed and different Nativity Scene.

During the hour and three-quarters that the tour lasts, you can take a walk from behind the Church, passing through the Church Square and its gardens, and finally exiting through the Church promenade.

More than 90 extras and a good group of volunteers will make this performance possible with great enthusiasm, and everyone will be invited to various tastings along the route.
