May Festivals of Badalona
Badalona comes alive once again with the arrival of the eagerly awaited May Festival, a celebration centered around the feast day of Saint Anastasius, honoring the city's co-patron saint. During these days, the streets are transformed into a grand festive stage where tradition and popular culture take center stage.
The program includes a wide variety of activities designed for all ages: colorful parades, folk dances, traditional cultural performances, and human tower displays that fill squares and streets with energy and excitement. It's the perfect opportunity to experience Badalona's festive roots firsthand and immerse yourself in the joyful and participatory atmosphere that permeates every corner.
Music also plays a prominent role, with concerts taking place on various stages throughout the city. This year's lineup features renowned names such as Sexenni, Mishima, Los Catarras, Juan Magan, the Selvatana Orchestra, and De Gairó, who will thrill audiences with something for everyone.
The most anticipated moment arrives with the traditional Burning of the Devil, one of the most emblematic and symbolic acts of the festivities. This spectacle, full of fire and emotion, brings to a close several intense days of celebration and becomes a unique experience that attracts both locals and visitors year after year.
The activities are spread across different areas of the city, transforming Badalona into a giant open-air stage. If you want to make the most of the festival, be sure to check the full program and plan your visit so you don't miss any of the highlights.
Come and enjoy the May Festivals!
