International Comic Fair of Barcelona
The International Comic Fair of Barcelona is an annual contest of authors, publishers and comic readers that is held annually in Barcelona since 1981, with the exception of 1986 and 1987, canceled for budgetary reasons. It is an important reference for Catalan and Spanish comics and since 1988 it is organized by FICOMIC, a non-profit organization whose objectives are the dissemination and promotion of comics and manga.
The jury of the Salón del Cómic awards several prizes, the most popular of which are the Grand Prix of the Salon, the Prize for the Best Work, the Prize for the revelation author, the Prize for the best fanzine and the Prize for the Best Foreign Work.
