SWAB Barcelona Art Fair

Swab Barcelona is an independent contemporary art fair founded in 2006 by architect and collector Joaquín Díez-Cascón. Since its founding, the goal has been to highlight and support emerging practices that are redefining the contemporary art scene.

With an experimental and humanized approach, Swab prioritizes dialogue between artists, collectives, and collectors, promoting a diverse, inclusive, and sustainable cultural ecosystem.

The fair, with its human scale and accessible approach, delves into new artistic languages and collaborative forms. This balances the role of the market with the public responsibility for artistic creation. The selection committee focuses on quality and diversity of proposals, giving space to both established galleries and new international projects with a global perspective.

This year's edition will bring together 60 galleries and independent spaces from around the world. Committed to Barcelona, the fair has established itself as a cultural meeting place in tune with the city's Mediterranean and cosmopolitan spirit. Under Carolina Díez-Cascón 's direction, the collective vision, ties to the region, and the social environment take on greater importance.
