The Passion of Constanti

In the old town of Constantí, different scenes of the Passion of Jesus Christ are represented. Where actors and audience share space.

The performance begins on Main Street where the public waits for the Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey. At the end of the street, the apostles and Jesus climb the stairs of the church until they reach the Plaza del Castell where the Holy Supper is performed.

From there, we go to a small park next to the square where there is a majestic tree to represent The Garden of Gethsemane. We are located at the top of Raval de Sant Cristòfol street. With Jesus already chained, we go down until we reach the Morrot stairs where Herod receives Jesus.

Next, we return to Main Street to represent Jesus before Pilate. At this point, the Calvary Road begins until reaching the old Summer Court to represent the Crucifixion followed by the Resurrection. The image of Jesus dead on the cross, the song that Mary Magdalene sings to Jesus, is very special, and above all, very real and gives a very emotional ending.
