Transhumance Fair of Santa Margarida i els Monjos
The Transhumance Fair is held in October in Santa Margarida i els Monjos and brings together producers and artisans of products related to livestock and wine tourism.
Market and tasting of wines, cavas, cheeses and sausages. Throughout the morning you can also visit the craft market and almonedistas, as well as an exhibition of sheep from local shepherds and the exhibition "The Marina Livestock Trail."
The Fair is part of the project "Camino Ganadero de Marina. De la Cerdanya al Penedès", which arises from the concern of the municipalities of Santa Margarida i els Monjos, Lluçà and Llívia, among other organizations and entities, with the aim of preserving, enhance and promote transhumance and livestock routes in Catalonia, dedicating special attention to the ancient transhumant route that has allowed the movement of herds between the Pyrenees and the coast in Penedès and Garraf, since the Middle Ages.
