Figaró-Montmany

The municipality of Figaró-Montmany is north of the Vallès Oriental region, 320 meters above sea level and in the middle of the narrow valley or gorge that gave its name to the river that crosses it.

The 15 km ² of the term are distributed to both sides of the river Congost. To its left the term climbs Montseny above, reaching its maximum height with the top of Rock Centella, of 1000 m of altitude, in the south end of the carenes d'en Bosc.

This half of the municipality, included within the Montseny Natural Park, covers a large part of Vall de Vallcàrquera, drained by the Vallcàrquera stream, at the foot of the Tagamanent hill. It also includes the southern slope of this valley, the Monteugues area.

On the right bank of the river Congost, however, the term makes its way to the buttresses of the Berti Cingles. In this sector of the municipality the valleys of the sot of the Bac and the Feréstecs sots are included, tributaries also of the Congost.

Figaró-Montmany is the gateway to the valley of the Congost, the corridor that connects the plains of Vallès and Osona, cutting narrow of the Pre-coastal Mountain Range.

Few are the municipalities like Figaró-Montmany that offer the possibility of accessing places of great natural beauty using the train as transport.

The Figaró, despite being a small municipality, has good communications with public transport.

You can get there by train taking the R3 line of Cercanías de Renfe or by bus with the Sagalés line that runs from Barcelona to Vic.

It is a municipality very accessible by road. Only 40 km from Barcelona, it is accessed through the C17, just past La Garriga and the Figaró tunnels if you come from the south, and after Tagamanent if you come from the north.
