Olla Festival in Altafulla
Altafulla celebrates a new edition of the Olla Festival in the Parque del Comunidor!
Olla de Altafulla is a typical dish from the municipality made with chickpeas, potatoes, rabbit, chicken, and pork chop. Its unique feature is the added value provided by a romesco sauce that only those who cook it know.
The origins of this dish date back to the tenure of Mayor Joan Pijuan, decades ago. He and his family cooked the Olla in Parque del Comunido, a place they chose to enjoy this succulent yet calorie-rich dish.
Today, it is the Municipal Brigade workers who cook it for more than 300 people, a challenge that is not easy when it comes to satisfying the palates of so many people.
