Indianos Fair in Begur
The traditional Indianos Fair of Begur celebrates a new edition with a program full of varied and interesting activities.
Begur transforms itself to relive a unique part of its history with the Indianos Fair, a celebration that highlights the ties between the town and Cuba and turns the streets and squares into a grand stage with an Indiano atmosphere. The event combines heritage, culture, music, and traditions to offer an experience that goes far beyond a typical market.
A stroll through Begur during the Indianos Fair offers a chance to discover the legacy of Begur's residents who emigrated to Cuba and, upon their return, built the iconic "Indianos" houses that still form part of the town's landscape and identity. Guided tours allow you to delve deeper into this heritage and learn firsthand about a period that has shaped the town's history.
The fair's atmosphere is enhanced by music, street performances, entertainment, craft demonstrations, and a market featuring products from overseas. There are also activities specifically designed for families, including children's workshops on traditional crafts and other activities that allow the youngest visitors to actively participate in this unique immersion into the past.
Caribbean music and rhythms also play a prominent role, bringing energy and atmosphere to the different spaces in Begur. Concerts, roving performances, and dance areas all contribute to creating a festive atmosphere that connects Catalan culture with the Cuban influence that inspires the celebration.
The Indianos Fair is, in short, a different way to discover Begur: strolling through its streets, learning about its heritage and letting yourself be carried away by an atmosphere that makes you travel back in time.
A proposal to experience Begur with all five senses and discover the history that links the town with Cuba through culture, music and festivities.
