Come and discover the largest monumental nativity scene in Catalonia on a 360º table in Parets del Vallès!

Nativity scenes in Parets have a long tradition that was formally organized in the 1960s, when a group linked to the Parish of Sant Esteve and the Parets Hiking Club (CEP) built the first monumental nativity scene. After a period of inactivity, the tradition was revived in 1986 with a tabletop nativity scene that grew to 300 square meters, entering the Catalan Book of Records in 1996. The nativity scene has varied in size between 180 and 230 square meters, and the scenery, inspired by local landscapes, is renewed each year.

They use materials such as polystyrene foam, sand, and stone, and have incorporated modern techniques like 3D printers and special effects. The group has around 1,000 figures, acquired at fairs and from renowned sculptors.

This year's display pays a heartfelt tribute to rural life and working the land, an essential part of our country's heritage. This year's Nativity scene is a journey through the main crops and agricultural landscapes. Visitors can discover an olive grove in full harvest and an oil mill recreating the traditional process. Just a few steps away, flowering almond trees, sunflowers, and lavender create a mosaic of colors and textures that evoke the beauty of the natural world. There are also traditional vegetable gardens with tomato and potato plants, and, new this year, a scene dedicated to the rice harvest, which broadens the view of the region's agricultural diversity.

One of the most spectacular areas is the wheat field dominated by a large flour windmill, which demonstrates the traditional milling of grain and transports visitors to another era. The ensemble is completed by a cave surrounded by forest and mist, a mysterious atmosphere that connects with the symbolism of the Nativity scene.

The combination of tradition and innovation is one of the Nativity scene's greatest strengths. This year, many figures and landscape elements have been created using 3D printing, including new houses, olive trees, vines, and even characters inspired by members of the Nativity Scene Association. A charming day-night effect has also been incorporated, adding dynamism and realism to the scene.
