Vidreres

Vidreres is located in the southeast of the plain of the region of La Selva. The municipal term is made up of several nuclei: the town of Vidreres and the nuclei of Les Bòries and Cartellà, as well as the Caulès farmhouse. The whole of this set invites you to stroll through its landscapes and its streets full of history, to practice sports in the open air and to sit at the table to enjoy its gastronomy.

The urban center of Vidreres houses different historical buildings, direct witnesses of the development of the population, which help to know more details about it. Of the archaeological heritage of the town, the Can Batllosera bunker stands out; the chapel of Sant Iscle and Santa Victòria, patron saints of Vidreres; the castle of Sant Iscle or the church of Santa Susanna. All of them have witnessed episodes such as the French War (War of Independence) or the Civil War.

The streets of the town transport, as if it were a reflex action, to admire the church of Santa Maria de Vidreres. This Baroque-style parish enclosure is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia and stands out for presenting highly differentiated architectural elements: the lower part is older, and the upper part is more modern.
